HOUSTON, TX—July 1, 2012 – Cameron Management announced today that it has acquired the Esperson Buildings “Esperson” located at 808 Travis Street and 815 Walker Avenue in Downtown Houston. Cameron Management successfully owned Esperson from 2004 to 2007 in a joint venture partnership.
Esperson consists of a 599,107-square-foot, multi-tenant office building comprised of the 27-story Niels Building and the adjoining 19-story Mellie Buiding and includes an attached seven-story Parking Garage. Originally constructed in 1927 and 1941, respectfully, by Mellie Esperson, Esperson is a historic landmark crowned by the Niels Esperson Cupola. This property is representative of Texas’ rich energy history where such notables as George Mitchell, J. Paul Getty, and James Baker, III, had successful careers. Current tenants consist of well-known firms such as EDP Renewables North America and Martin Disiere Jefferson & Wisdom, Attorneys at Law.
Cameron Management is known for owning classic buildings, emphasizing high touch service to its tenants while modernizing these distinctive icons for today’s energy efficiencies. With the acquisition of Esperson, Cameron Management increases its portfolio of classic office buildings to approximately 975,000 square feet of rentable space in Houston. All Cameron Management properties are owned, leased, and managed by the company. Additionally, Cameron Management holds the property management contract for 811 Rusk in Downtown Houston, owned by Skanska Commerical Development Corporation.
